Autumn in Music City!!
The summer was really busy with performances, and I devoted a lot of time to writing.
Just a few of the artists I worked with this summer include: Billy Yates, T. Graham Brown, Tammy Cochran, Sunny Sweeney, the Broussards, Billy Ryan, Melody Guy, Julie Forester, Kat Hunter, and Megan Linville.

The show with Billy Yates during the CMA Music Festival had the largest Sunday morning attendance at the festival and was a huge success. The Broussards played a recent Billy Block show and totally rocked the house! I'm so excited about working with Nicole and Jonathan!

I'm featured on two new cd releases: On the song "Mean Old Texas" on the cd "Tonight An Angel Fell" by Chuck Allen Floyd, and I performed a concert with Kat Hunter at the Lipstick Lounge which she recorded and will release as a live cd in the coming weeks!

I also just posted a couple new songs that I'm really proud of and excited about pitching!

"Should've Been Gone By Now" has been pitched to Brooks and Dunn, Rodney Adkins, and a copy has been kept by the A&R rep at Universal Music for Gary Allen!!

"Why Should I?" is a brand new demo! The vocalist on the demo is Whitney Jordan who is an incredibly talented singer in Nashville who works with producers like Dan Huff, Robert Ellis Orral, and Paul Taylor. I am very excited about this song and hope you enjoy it!!

I'm on the road some in October for a couple shows, traveling to Sparta, OH on Oct. 18 to perform two shows at Highland High School with Billy Yates and former Statler Brother, Jimmy Fortune, and then in Poplar Bluff, MO on Oct. 25 with Billy Yates. Check out my calendar for ticket details or www.myspace.com/billyyates

There are more exciting shows that I hope to be able to tell you about very soon!! Stay Tuned and I'll see you on the road or around the Row!

Across the pond!!
In March I went to the England with Billy Yates to perform a series of shows. It was an incredible experience. Although there is no country music played on BBC radio, but the demand is still high, and audiences prefer traditional acts...George Jones, Gene Watson, Johnny Cash, and of course, Billy Yates! I'm working on an article about the tour for SongwriterPro.com so please stay tuned!

Speaking of Billy Yates, I'm pleased to announce I'll be performing with him again during the CMA Music Festival. On June 4th, Billy hosts his annual "Countriest of the Country" show which benefits an organization called Christmas For The Children. This year's lineup includes Billy, T. Graham Brown, Blaine Larson, Tammy Cochran, Kevin Denney, Chris Young, Sunny Sweeney, Leslie Satcher, Kerry Kurt Phillips and many others. If you're coming to CMA Fest, do not miss this show. Tickets are $25 and available through Billy Yate's fan club - www.myspace.com/billyyates or www.billyyates.com for more details.

I'll also be performing on June 8th at the main Riverfront Stage with Billy during CMA Fest, and more shows in the future.

Things are going great on the writing side. I'm still getting strong responses from Publishers and am writing with some new cowriters. Keep an eye on the site for more developments and more shows. I play the Bluebird again in November, and I'm in the early stages of pre-production for a CD project of my own. More news about that in the coming months.

Thanks again for all the support! See you soon.

New Year!
Music Row gets kind of quite near the end of December and then by mid January it starts to ramp up again. It's great to have that down time around the holidays to spend with family and refocus at the start of the new year, do some reflection on the past year, and set goals for the new one.

January got off to a good start with a few gigs and a great meeting with Green Hills Music Group. And February is going to be slamming! I have shows lined up and a bunch of writing appointments, rehearsals starting for the upcoming UK tour in March, more publisher meetings, and that's just the tip of it.

I want to throw a big shout out to the entire song writing community in Nashville and abroad that have shown support for our friend, Lorna Flowers. There was a benefit last night to raise money to help Lorna offset medical expenses, and the turn out was amazing. And a big thanks to my wife who bid on and won 2 guitars from the auction, one of which was autographed by all the #1 writers at the benefit, including: Rivers Rutherford, Chris Wallin, Brian White, Sam Tate, Tony Lane, and so many others. It will be a nice piece of inspiration to hang in my writing room!

Thanks again to everyone for coming out to my shows and keep your eyes on this site for more exciting news in 2008!
Thanksgiving-part II
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! This year, and this month especially, has been incredible. I'm so blessed to be able to do what I do with the support of my family, friends, and fans! Thank you!!

Shows with Trailer Choir are going great! We recently played to a packed house with the Muzik Mafia, and it truly was Off The Hillbilly Hook! It's a great sight to see an entire crowd dancing and singing along with your songs, but to look to my right and literally 1 foot away from me are John Rich and James Otto singing and joining in with the crowd clapping was a blast. Lots of great things coming up so stay tuned.

I recently joined forces with Robby Wilson and other members of Jason Meadow's band as well as Jeff Jackson and Kimber Cleveland for a 2 hour showcase of original songs. We did our first performance at Douglas Corner on Dec. 15th, and despite the heavy storms around Nashville, we drew a great crowd. Everyone had a blast, and we're working on plans to make this a monthly show. Our next show will be in January. I'll update the calendar as soon as it's confirmed.

Some upcoming shows in the next couple week to check out:

Nov. 30th I'm performing with Karen Keeley at the Wildhorse Saloon opening for Keith Anderson as 95.5 The Wolf hosts an after-party for Keith Urban! Tickets are available at the Wildhorse and Ticketmaster.
Dec 8th and 15th - I'm performing at the Commodore Lounge with Rick Stewart and Redbud 66. Each night is a writer/artist networking party. Rick hosts these each month or so and it's a great hang with a ton of great people. Make sure you drop by.

I just got the demo back for a new song called "A Different Song" that I wrote with Chuck Allen Floyd and Matt Nolen that I will post in the next couple days. As a songwriter, one of the things you often hear is that everyone is looking for something "different". Well, I think we definitely meet that requirement, even the title says so. Check it out here or on mine or Chuck's MySpace pages.

And last but not least, I'm very pleased to announce my recent affiliation with SESAC. John and the staff at SESAC are wonderful, and I look forward to working further with them.

Thanks again for all your support, and I hope to see you real soon!

Thanksgiving
I recently got the call to join Show Dog artists, Trailer Choir! Gigs have been going great and the buzz around this group is incredible. Keep an eye out for us on the road and around town! I'll update the calendar as soon as more dates are confirmed.

I'm doing a songwriter showcase at Jeffrey's Grille on Nov. 8th. Chuck Allen Floyd is going to join me, and I'm working on a couple surprise guests as well.

Also on Nov. 14, I'm performing a set of my songs with a full band at Douglas Corner. We're working on turning this into a monthly event, and it's guaranteed to be a really cool hang. Hope to see you there.

Thanks to the Indianapolis NSAI workshop for hosting me and Chuck last week. We presented a songwriting seminar and then followed that with a performance. There's a video on MySpace videos.

Meetings are going well. I'll see you at a show or on the Row!
Boys of Summer
Is summer already over? Wow. It is nice to be able to sit on the porch again, though, now that it's not 105 degrees every day.

Earlier this year, I had one song cut by Rick Stevens for his new album, and recently, Rick and I got together to write and came up with another one that he's seriously considering for the album as well.
And like a majority of writers in town, I did NOT get a George Strait cut this year! However, I currently have a song "on hold" with Carolina Rain.

As you may know, I've played and hosted an acoustic show at FUEL. It started with my good friend, Crystal Hoyt, and when she went on tour with the band Trailer Choir, I kept the show going. After a year of performing every Wednesday, I decided to make a change to pursue some additional opportunities. My buddy, John Griffin, is now running the Wednesday acoustic show. I'll play now and then as my schedule allows so check the Shows calendar.

Gigs with Chuck Allen Floyd have been going great. Clubs in Cincinnati and Oklahoma have asked us back. We've been approached by the management of the American Airlines Center arena in Dallas about some possible shows.

I recently started working with Valerie Bolin which has been great. She's an incredible artist/writer with EMI. We're playing the Billy Block show at the end of October and gearing up for more showcases soon.

Look for me doing some showcases of my own coming up. I'm doing an hour long set in Oct. and Nov. at the Crescent, a showcase at Jeffrey's Grill, and starting in November, I'll be doing a full band set of my material each month at Douglas Corner. Check the calendar often for updates!

Thanks again for all your support!!
Hot Pursuit
I just got the copies of the song I wrote with Chuck Allen Floyd that was on his demo session this week with Blacktop Music. We had Kevin Denny ('That's Just Jesse') do vocals, and Mel Eubanks at Westwood did an amazing job recording and mixing the tracks. The song is going to hit the Row next week for some very serious pitches.

My writer showcase at the Commodore Lounge went great this month, and Wednesday nights at FUEL are building. We're adding new artists each week like Mark Lonsway, John Griffin, and Beth Cayhall. This coming week John is going to host the evening while I'm out on the road. John will have Wendy Newcomer and the Karg Boys! Check out my Myspace page to see the full list of performers.

More shows and more songs coming soon!
Stay Tuned!
Must be almost Summertime!
"The Cowboy Or The Clown" is currently #3 on the Contemporary
Country chart at [url]www.broadjam. com[url]
I've had several songs in their Top 10 before, but this is the highest position so far. Broadjam also just informed me that I'm listed as a Featured
Artist! The pictures rotate through several pages on their website, so drop by and maybe you'll see me!!

Chuck Allen Floyd and I have a new song that will be on his next demo session
later this month. I'll post it as soon as it becomes available. And if you haven't checked out my recent song, "One Night" that I wrote with Matt Nolen,
please drop by for a listen to the worktape. Matt is doing an
artist showcase June 5 and this song was specifically requested by the A&R to be included in the set!

Me, Chuck and the other guys in the band are going to be backing artist, Ansel Brown, on Billy Block's Western Beat Roots Revival show this coming Tuesday, June 5 at 8pm central). The show is streamed live on the web at [url]www.westernbeat.com[url]

Publisher meetings have been picking up steam and look for more songs to be posted soon.
Time Flies!
I was just telling a friend today that the music business seems to be one area where no matter how hard you work, you feel like you need to do be doing more.
Then I look up and see it's been awhile since my last news update here. We'll make sure to avoid that in the future.

Publisher meetings have been going well with lots of good feedback. There are so many incredible songs written in this town every week, and I'm thankful and very happy that some of mine are making it through the gate and onto the playing field. I'm still waiting for word that 'When The New Wears Off' has made the album, but I got a new mix of it last week so I think that's a real good sign. I've got a few new songs uploaded and some more to come once they are demoed.

Lots of shows coming up with Chuck Allen Floyd! Please check the calendar. We have a great band, if I do say so myself, and it's nice to work with such great guys.

A quick shout out to my good friend, Crystal Hoyt. Crystal has joined the Trailer Choir and will be leaving to go on tour with them opening for Toby Keith. Give them a listen and go see a show if you get the chance. They're a blast! HOLLA!!

Got to wrap up for now, but I'll get another post up as soon as I can and fill you in on some cool things in the works. Thanks for all the support!

Eddie
Happy New Year!!
Hope your holidays were wonderful. I know this update is overdue, but some great things happened at the end of 2006 that have me enthusiastic for the new year.

My good friend and co-writer, Robby Wilson, finished a 4 song project with Grammy winning producer, David Z. (Prince, Etta James, Johnny Lang, among others). I'm very proud to have two songs featured, "First Time" and "Let Me Remind You", out of the four songs on the project that David Z. and Robby are using to shop to record labels. Check out the new track for "Let Me Remind You" on my Music page!

Rick Stevens recently cut a song that he and I wrote called "When The New Wears Off" that is in consideration for Rick's new album produced by Biff Watson (Aaron Tippin, Ty Herndon, and so many others!). I've heard a rough mix of the track, and they did a great job. I can't wait to hear the final mix and to get word that it made the album!!

Speaking of tracking, Chuck Allen Floyd is going into the studio this week to cut some new demos for Blacktop Music. I have two songs we wrote together that will be included on his session, "The Cowboy Or The Clown" and a new one called "She's Water". Both songs have received a lot of positive response from audiences and publishers. I can't wait to hear these tracks! Also, Chuck and I are working on booking more shows together as a duo and full band so check back often for those upcoming dates!!

Wednesday nights at FUEL with Crystal Hoyt are going well. We're there every week from 6-9pm. FUEL is a great new club downtown. The staff is really nice and the happy hour specials (3 for 1!!) can't be beat.

Thanks again for your continued support!
Here's to 2007!!

Irons In the Fire
Hey everyone! Thanks again for stopping by my website and for your continued support at the shows! Things have been crazy busy so a few updates are in order.

Writing has been going very well, and I hope to have some new demos to post soon. I have submitted another song to Blacktop Music which they began pitching immediately off of the guitar/vocal worktape. Shadow Mountain has kept another song I recently finished. I have a third that my co-writer is submitting to his publisher this week as well so we'll see.

Dave Wilbert has released a video for his first single, "Bone Dry". And yours truly is in the band shots near the end.
Check it out on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmZD5XWNK0E
Starting Oct. 26, the video will be part of a competition called YouTube Underground. If you have a YouTube account (or will set one up!!), please log in and vote for the video. The winner gets to fly to NY to perform live on Good Morning America! A shorter version will be released to CMT and GAC in the coming weeks.

Also on Oct. 25, I'm starting a weekly acoustic gig with Crystal Hoyt every Wednesday from 6-9pm at a not new club downtown called, FUEL. Great club, great sound system, incredible happy hour...and a Tequila bar!

Stay tuned for more news and updates. Keep an eye on the Shows page for upcoming performances, and I promise I'll get some new demos posted as soon as they become available!!

It All Begins With A Song
First off, thanks to everyone who came out to my showcase! It was great. Performing with Chuck Allen Floyd and Crystal Hoyt was incredible, and I received some very positive feedback about the show, and more importantly, my songs!

The big news this week is I signed single song agreements with Blacktop Music Group for two new songs I co-wrote with Chuck Allen Floyd. I'm very excited about the songs and about working with the great folks at Blacktop.

On the performance side:
I recently confirmed a couple shows with a friend and co-writer of mine, Trent Jeffcoat. We're hitting the road in September and October for a couple shows in South Carolina opening for Josh Gracin and Blake Shelton.

And don't forget to come out to the 3rd Annual Taste of Clermont in Batavia, OH on September 9th where I'll be performing "In the Round" with my friends, Dave Gibson, Wynn Varble, and Marc Alan Barnette. I'm very excited about the opportunity to perfrom my songs with these great writers. And not only that, but Wynn is one of the funniest guys I know so this set is going to be a load of fun.

I have more great appointments with some wonderful writers and some new songs in the hopper to be demoed shortly. Check back soon for more updates.

Did someone say Showcase?!
Lots of exciting things happening so let's get right to it!

The OCC Writers Group showcase in July was incredible. We had a packed house and a great time. I performed with Marc Alan Barnette and Meghan Linsey...I must say we make a pretty good trio! And thanks go out to host Steven Sharp and Sharp Objects! The night before the showcase, Steven put together a private guitar pull with Jason Sellars, Randy Sharp, Jon Michaels, and Tony Haseldon that was very cool.

Steven also invited me to be part of the next Sharp Objects showcase at the Bluebird Cafe!! It looks like September, but I'll update everyone once the date and time are confirmed.

But Wait....that's not all! Debi Champion booked me for a Writer Showcase at the Commodore on Aug. 10 at 6pm. Debi books these showcase nights once a month, and it's a real honor to be asked to perform one! Please come by and show your support; you'll be glad you did!!

I'm also excited about the schedule for the 3rd Annual Taste of Clermont Festival in Batavia, OH. I'm performing at 2:30 on Sept. 9th with my friends, Marc Alan Barnette, Dave Gibson, and Wynn Varble! This will not only be an awesome round of incredible songs, but it will be one of the funniest 2 hours of the day. These guys are incredible, and it's such a thrill to perform with them at this year's festival.

Also, that same evening, Marc Alan and I will be hosting the Late Night Songwriters Jam Session. We're still working out the venue, but last year's jam went until after 1 am, and all of the songwriters from Nashville joined in before it was all over.

This event keeps getting bigger and better, and I love being part of it. This year's lineup includes: Jeffrey Steele, Chris Wallin, Craig Monday, Jimbeau Hinson, Amanda Martin, Greg Crowe, Randy Houser, Dallas Davison, Meghan Linsey, Ken & Barry Somerville, Will Nance, Tom Hambridge and others. SEE YOU THERE!!

Until next time, see you 'round the Row!

Summer in Music City!
The weather is hot and the music is hotter! This is an awesome town.

I've had incredible co-writes recently with folks like Jason Matthews, Rick Stevens, and Jeff Jackson as well as appointments coming up soon with Chuck Allen Floyd and Dave Gibson. The Muse is smiling. I've also had some very solid pitches recently.

Thanks to everyone for the emails and for coming out to the shows!

I've just been booked to open for Dave Gibson and Wynn Varble in Cincinnati, OH for the Union Township Civic Center Free Summer Concert Series (fit all that on a marquee!). It's an acoustic songwriter show in the outdoor ampitheater - a great place to bring the family and enjoy a show under the stars!

I'll also be back in Cincinnati with some Nashville songwriters to perform at the Taste of Clermont festival in September. I'll be doing multiple shows and will keep you updated once the schedule is set.

There are a few more shows with Chuck Allen Floyd in the works. Keep checking the Shows page.

More things happening soon, and as always, you'll be the first to know!

Gig stuff...
Tin Pan South 2006 was a blast...exhausting, but a blast nonetheless! One of these years I'll remember to take a camera, maybe.

A quick reminder - I've had a couple dates move around lately so please check the Shows page.

The Universal Music Group meeting and showcase with Chasity Dawn went very well. She impressed a lot of people, and plans are underway for her return trip to Nashville soon for more label meetings and a full band showcase.

Look for me playing shows with Lucie Diamond next month.
Lucie has seen much success throughout Europe and is coming to Nashville in the middle of May for label meetings and showcases.
See and hear Lucie at www.luciediamond.com

And the BIG NEWS: CHUCK ALLEN FLOYD AND BIG TOBACCO!
I'm very excited about landing a gig with Chuck Allen Floyd as guitarist for his band, Big Tobacco! Chuck is an incredible songwriter and artist who is making a big splash in Nashville...plus, he's just cool. Starting in May, you can catch us every Thursday night at Tommy's Country Playhouse playing some serious honky tonk! Check the Shows page for more details and more dates to come.

Out and about...
Thanks again for dropping by! I have some cool stuff to tell you about:

"Gold Front Tooth" was selected as the Tunesmith Song of the Year and along with that honor, I will perform a televised showcase in the near future. Details should be confirmed in the coming weeks, and you know you'll be able to read about it here first!

I'm also pleased to have a listing on the Music News Nashville website. Check out www.musicnewsnashville.com. Also on the web, I can now be found at www.myspace.com/eddieheinzelman
I'm just getting that page setup, but if you have a MySpace account, logon and drop me a line.

There are many more things currently in the works and new dates posted on the Shows page. So if you're out and about, drop in for a set and say hello!

What's going on...
The year has started off strong! First, I want to thank all the friends who have come to my shows recently. The support is much appreciated. I've added some new dates with more in the works. Check the Calendar page for details.

March 2nd at the Commodore I'll be playing a Songwriter Spotlight set with one of Nashville's finest writers, Jason Matthews! Jason has had several Top 20 singles ("Break Down Here", "Life Happened" among them) as well as recently scoring his first #1 with "Must Be Doin' Something Right". I'm honored to share the stage with my buddy, Jason!

March 23rd, I'm performing a round with my friends, Robby Wilson and Crystal Hoyt. Both are great writers and great artists who perform sessions and live showcases around Nashville.

I've added a GuestBook to the site if you feel so inclined to drop a comment or two, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks again for dropping by and Stay Tuned......

Welcome!!
Thanks for dropping by my website!

I recently played a show with Ronnie Baker, former lead singer with Molly Hatchet. Ronnie is a terrific guy, a stellar performer, and the concert/CD release party drew over 1300 people. It was a great show, great crowd, and what a great time! I'm looking forward to more shows with Ronnie in the future.

I'm working on some more demos of recent songs I've co-written with some great writers: Robby Wilson, Crystal Hoyt, Julie Carter-Moriva, and Dave Gibson. Stay tuned to the Music page.

Make sure you check out the Photos, Music, and upcoming Shows calendar to see what's happening and where I'll be performing.

Remember: The brain thinks in words - the soul thinks in music.
